Day-to-day programme
Day 1. You will arrive on board at 17:00 in Oban, where Steady will be waiting for you at the North Pier, just 300 metres from the train station. After meeting your fellow travellers and exploring the ship, we will enjoy a shared dinner. We will give you a full introduction to the voyage and raise a glass to the wonderful week ahead!
Day 2. The Gaelic word “Lios Mor”, meaning “the great garden”, perfectly describes this green island. Lismore lies at the mouth of Loch Linnhe and guards the entrance to the Sound of Mull. The island offers a rolling, rocky landscape with spectacular views across the mountains of Argyll, Ardnamurchan and Mull. We will take a circular walk visiting the most beautiful places on the island, enjoying lunch in nature. After the hike we continue our journey through Loch Linnhe and anchor overnight in the peaceful Loch A Choire.
Day 3. By dinghy we go ashore for an invigorating morning walk through the conifer forest and hills around Kingairloch. Along the way we may spot otters, dippers and possibly birds of prey. We make a small detour to the Ghardaig waterfall before returning to Steady. As the ship continues sailing towards the Sound of Mull, you can relax and enjoy the view. We end the day anchored in the Sound of Mull with a delicious and healthy meal.
Day 4. Today we sail to Tobermory, the charming harbour town on Mull. After lunch we take a group walk to Aros Park, exploring the coastline of Tobermory. We pass a waterfall and walk around a picturesque lake covered with water lilies. After the hike there is time to explore the town or even take an extra walk to the lighthouse.
Day 5. Muck, the smallest island of the Small Isles, measures only 4 km by 2 km but offers a surprisingly diverse landscape. From fertile fields to sandy beaches and a rugged west coast, Muck is a paradise for walkers. After a group walk across the island, enjoying the peace and nature, we visit the cosy tearoom famous for its delicious homemade cakes. In the sheltered bay of Muck, where Steady lies at anchor, you may spot a large group of seals. Watching these curious animals play or bask on the rocks is a perfect way to end the day.
Day 6. After a relaxing sail we return to Loch Aline, located on the west coast of Scotland in the Morvern region. Here we take the dinghy ashore to explore the beautiful garden of Ardtornish. Enjoy the peace and nature before returning on board for dinner.
Day 7. On the final full day we sail to the green island of Kerrera, known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful walking routes. The island offers wonderful views of the surrounding coastline. After a lovely hike we celebrate the final evening with a festive “Captain’s Dinner”, reflecting together on an amazing voyage.
Day 8.After a delicious breakfast we set course for the marina in Oban for the final leg of our journey. After an adventurous and varied trip we say goodbye at 10:00, with memories of an unforgettable sailing and hiking experience.
