Day-to-day programme
Day 1. You board at 17:00 in Oban, where Steady awaits you at North Pier, just 300 metres from the train station. After meeting your fellow travellers and exploring the ship, we enjoy a shared dinner together. We provide a detailed introduction to the journey and raise a glass to the fantastic week ahead!
Day 2. The Gaelic word “Lios Mor”, meaning “the great garden”, perfectly describes this green island. Lismore lies at the mouth of Loch Linnhe and guards the entrance to the Sound of Mull. The island offers a rolling, rocky landscape with spectacular views over the mountains of Argyll, Ardnamurchan and Mull. We take a circular hike and visit the most beautiful spots on the island, with lunch in nature. After the walk, we continue our journey through Loch Linnhe and anchor in the peaceful Loch A Choire for the night.
Day 3. By dinghy, we go ashore for an invigorating morning walk through the conifer forests and hills around Kingairloch. Along the way, we may spot otters, dippers and possibly even birds of prey. We make a small detour to the Ghardaig waterfall before returning to Steady. As the ship continues towards the Sound of Mull, you can relax and enjoy the views. We end the day at anchor in the Sound of Mull with a delicious and healthy meal.
Day 4. Today we sail to Tobermory, the charming harbour town on Mull. After lunch, we take a group walk to Aros Park, exploring the coastline of Tobermory. We pass a waterfall and walk around a picturesque lake covered with water lilies. After the walk, there is time to explore the town or even take an additional walk to the lighthouse.
Day 5. Muck, the smallest island of the Small Isles, measures just 4 km by 2 km but offers a surprisingly diverse landscape. From fertile fields to sandy beaches and a rugged west coast, Muck is a paradise for walkers. After a group hike across the island, enjoying the peace and nature, we visit the cosy tearoom, known for its delicious homemade cakes. In the sheltered bay of Muck, where Steady is anchored, you can spot a large group of seals. Watching these curious animals play or sunbathe on the rocks is a beautiful sight and the perfect end to the day.
Day 6. After a relaxed sailing journey, we return to Loch Aline, located on the west coast of Scotland in the Morvern region. Here, we take the dinghy ashore to explore the beautiful gardens of Ardtornish. Enjoy the peace and nature before returning on board for dinner.
Day 7. On the final full day, we sail to the green island of Kerrera, known for its peaceful atmosphere and scenic walking routes. The island offers stunning views over the surrounding coastline. After a beautiful walk, we enjoy a festive ‘Captain’s Dinner’ on the final evening, reflecting together on a wonderful journey.
Day 8. After a delicious breakfast, we set course for the marina in Oban for the final part of our journey. After an adventurous and varied trip, we say goodbye at 10:00, taking with us memories of an unforgettable sailing and hiking experience.
Nature sets the course: “Nature and weather play an important role in our sailing trips, making each journey unique. The proposed itinerary serves as inspiration, but may be adjusted depending on weather conditions. This ensures an adventurous experience, while always prioritising your safety and enjoyment.”
