Day-to-day programme – highlights of the Hebrides Short Break
Day 1 – Welcome on board & sailing to Tobermory
Your adventure begins in Oban on Friday 21 May at 10:00. After a warm welcome on board Steady, you settle into your cabin and meet your fellow travellers. We then hoist the sails and set course for Tobermory, the colourful harbour town on Mull.
Along the way, you can learn the basics of sailing or simply relax and enjoy the scenery. In Tobermory, you will have time to explore the village, with its charming streets, lively harbour and cosy pubs.
Day 2 – Staffa & historic Iona
Today is all about unforgettable experiences. We begin with a sailing trip to Staffa, famous for its spectacular basalt columns and mysterious atmosphere. The sound of waves crashing against the cliffs creates an impressive natural concert. In the afternoon, we sail to Iona, where we anchor with a view of the abbey. We spend the night surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of this historic island.
Day 3 – Discover Iona & anchoring in a hidden bay on Mull
Step inside the historic Iona Abbey, where Saint Columba founded a monastery in the 6th century and where the 12th-century stone abbey still tells stories of centuries of religion and kings.
Later, we sail to a remote bay on the south coast of Mull: white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water and a deep sense of tranquillity. Relax, take a swim or enjoy the view before we dine together on board at sunset.
Day 4 – Return to Oban
On the final morning, we sail back to Oban and enjoy the impressive scenery one last time. You can help with the sails or simply relax and follow the rhythm of the sea. Around 15:00 we arrive in Oban, with a head full of memories and new friendships.
