Day 1 – Ullapool: the start of your adventure
Your adventure begins in picturesque Ullapool. At 13:30 we welcome you aboard Steady. Get to know the ship, meet your fellow travellers and feel the first excitement of sailing. After the safety briefing, we hoist the sails and head for one of the remote bays of the Summer Isles. A peaceful first night surrounded by the wild beauty of Scotland – the perfect way to get into the sailing spirit.
Day 2 – To the bird paradise: the Shiant Islands
Early in the morning we set course for one of the absolute highlights of this trip: the Shiant Islands. After a 20-nautical-mile passage across the Minch, we keep watch for dolphins, seabirds and perhaps even a whale. Once we arrive at this remote archipelago, known as a true bird paradise, we explore the area by dinghy. Thousands of puffins, auks and gannets nest on the dramatic cliffs while we enjoy the peace and the endless horizon.
Day 3 – Duntulm, Skye: castle ruins and ocean views
We sail to the northern tip of Skye, where the ruins of Duntulm Castle rise high above the cliffs. Feel the history of the MacDonald clan and enjoy spectacular views across the Minch towards the Outer Hebrides. The area is ideal for spotting seals, seabirds and perhaps even dolphins – a wonderful first introduction to the richness of the Hebrides.
Day 4 – Rona: a hidden gem
Today we discover Rona, a remote island north of Skye. Untouched landscapes, a remarkable sense of peace and perhaps even a meeting with the island caretaker make this a truly special experience. Walk along narrow paths, spot red deer and take in the breathtaking sea views.
Day 5 – Plockton: a Scottish jewel
We sail south into Loch Carron towards the charming village of Plockton. Thanks to the Gulf Stream, it almost feels tropical here, with palm trees, calm waters and colourful cottages. Take a stroll through the village, sample local food in a pub or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings – the perfect moment to relax and soak up the culture.
Day 6 – Through the Sound of Sleat to Loch Nevis
We sail through the impressive Sound of Sleat, the narrow passage between Skye and the mainland. Surrounded by towering mountains and calm waters, this is one of the most beautiful sailing passages in Scotland. We moor in remote Loch Nevis, a perfect place to unwind and absorb the scenery.
Day 7 – Eigg: climb An Sgurr
This morning we set course for Eigg, dominated by the impressive rock ridge of An Sgurr. Those who wish can climb to the top and will be rewarded with spectacular views over the Small Isles, Skye and Ardnamurchan. Afterwards, there is time to relax in the island’s small café or pub – a well-earned rest after a day full of adventure.
Day 8 – Tobermory: colour and character
We sail to Tobermory on Mull, famous for its iconic row of colourful houses along the waterfront. A cheerful and picturesque stop that offers the perfect balance after a week of sailing and discovery.
Day 9 – Kerrera & Captain’s Dinner
Our final sailing day takes us to the peaceful island of Kerrera, just outside Oban. We enjoy a relaxed walk ashore with panoramic views over the surrounding coastline. In the evening, we celebrate the voyage with a festive Captain’s Dinner on board – an unforgettable ending to our journey through the Hebrides.
